Cathedral Primary School

Bristol Central Library

Refurbishment of the lower 2 floors of Bristol Central Library to provide a new 14 class primary school for ages 4-11.
The existing building is grade 1 listed, built in 1906 and designed by Charles Holden, who went on to design numerous iconic stations buildings for the London Underground.
The scheme opens the space up, re-instating the original double height central hall and associated rooflights. Proposals include the refurbishment of existing features such as timber flooring and glazed screens and enhance them by the inclusion of new contemporary additions.
